The fracking issues facing the UK have escalated dramatically in the past few weeks. Protesters have been camping out at the site in Balcombe for the past three weeks and has seen over 40 arrests! The 100 protesters that are already on site are thought to attract 1,000 more over the weekend!

The issue has now gained celebrity attention with fashion designer Dame Vivienne Westwood today joining protesters and calling for a public debate on fracking!

"I'm anti-fracking and I'm here to protest. There has been no debate. They are trying to rush this thing through, for what?" Westwood told the Press Assosiation.  "It's not going to go away. We don't know whether it will do good or bad. I'm sure it's bad and the only people who are going to benefit from it is this energy company who are associated with the Government."
